In an unfortunate turn of events, EDC China 2024, initially scheduled for September 15-16 at the Yang Cheng Lake Resort in Suzhou, has been officially canceled. The announcement came following the looming threat of Typhoon Bebinca, which is expected to make landfall during the festival dates. Event organizers, Insomniac and CMC Future, took the decision in compliance with the Suzhou City Typhoon Defense Emergency Plan to prioritize the safety of attendees, artists, and staff.
EDC China was set to bring its iconic, immersive production back for its sixth year, with a lineup featuring some of the biggest names in the electronic music scene. Acts like Subtronics, Dillon Francis, AFROJACK b2b R3HAB, Axwell, Marshmello, The Chainsmokers and Yuuki Yoshiyama were slated to perform. Fans were also looking forward to techno sets by I Hate Models, Eli Brown, and 999999999, as well as trance legends like Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk, and Giuseppe Ottaviani. Hard dance acts like Brennan Heart, Sub Zero Project, and DJ Isaac were also on the bill, alongside rising stars like Rayray b2b JVNA.
The cancellation is a significant disappointment to both fans and artists alike, as the festival is known for its elaborate stages, vibrant visuals, and an eclectic mix of music genres, from bass and techno to trance and hard dance.
Organizers have assured that all tickets purchased through official platforms will be fully refunded within 7-10 business days. While the cancellation is disheartening, safety remains the top priority, and there is hope that EDC China will return even stronger in the future. Fans are encouraged to monitor official channels for future announcements and updates.
Anticipation builds for the next chapter of EDC China.
