This April, the IMS International Music Summit Conference, is presenting the 13th edition of its glorious 3-day global music event at Destino Pacha Resort in the heart of the EDM world, Ibiza.
The 3-day event kicks off on the 27th of April, hosted by Pete Tong and Jaguar from BBC Radio 1, with a vision to ramp up the global movement created to unite and connect the music industry, with IMS being the premier thought leadership platform for electronic music.
The IMS debuted in its historic golden conference in 2007 and had set up the stage for 12 consecutive annual editions before being challenged by the devastating Covid-19 in the past two years. The summit returns after this long drought that had crunched the EDM and nightclub economy and is proud to celebrate recovery from the pandemic with the music world.
The conference to be held in Destino Ibiza Resort takes place a month earlier than tradition from Wednesday 27th April to Friday 29th April. Owing to the global shift in the music industry and the way of life, this year’s IMS edition has certain differences from tradition.
The IMS replaces the panel event this year with keynotes, presentations, workshops, and discussions on topics that include a focus on rebuilding the music ecosystem, post-pandemic recovery, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, innovation and technology, and the evolving face of the music industry.
The event boasts an opening keynote by Robb McDaniels, the CEO of Beatport, UK; a keynote address by Silvia Montello from AFEM Association for Electronic Music; and a keynote interview with Wilf Gregory, the CEO of Event Horizon, UK.
The IMS edition 13 is loaded with star artist interviews, hosting BLOND:ISH, Duran Duran, DVS1, Jaguar, Jamie Jones, Kerri Chandler, Laurent Garnier, Portrait XO, Sarah Story, and Tsha.
The special featurette, ‘Lady of the House’, will present a community movement to celebrate women in electronic music. Special workshops will be held by L'Acoustics, Pixelynx, Sentric Electronic, and Viberate.
The IMS also features addresses from YouTube, Tik Tok, Beatport and officials from United Nations.
Along with the three-day summit, delegates get to experience Ibiza opening parties, the IMS Legends Awards Dinner, and the cherry on top; the IMS Grand Finale closing celebration featuring Jamies Jones and the Blessed Madonna in Dalt Vila, the magnificent UNESCO heritage site.
Although most attendees come by invitation, IMS rolls out categorized delegate badges available for purchase on their site. So, hurry up and grab your passes now for the grandest music event happening on the 27th - 29th of April 2022.
