Showcasing our next guest of the "15 mins series" - DJ Nandhouse from Palermo, Italy. He is a famous DJ, Producer, and Mixer. We asked him a few questions about his early life, DJing career, COVID implications on nightlife, and his new releases.
Thank you for joining us, Nandhouse. Running through my short questionnaire, my first question for you is;
1. Where are you from? For how long have you been DJing?
Hello guys! I was born in Sicily (Italy) exactly in Palermo. I started to do this work in 1989, when my father for Christmas of that year gave me my first console with the famous Technics SL 1200 turntables, from there the first private parties, then floored in a difficult territory like Sicily. I began making my way to the best clubs of the island and the most important Italian clubs.
2. What was the lockdown like locally, what chance did you have of playing outside or in front of an audience?
I believe that the 'terrible' term is the best word to explain to you how things went on my side, even though I tried to exploit much of my free time in the best way, completing a lot of jobs and making a field of voice album.
3. How do you think the scene will change in your country and city when we move to the open state?
Luckily, we are now slowly getting back to normal, but the techno scene in my city is unfortunately very limited, and this is the reason why I haven't worked on it for more than 7 years.
4. Your production focuses on melodic techno and trance: which producers inspired you and why?
My music is actually focused on techno, techno minimal and melodic techno. I don't love trance music. The manufacturers I am inspired by, trying to make the best of each of them, are Boris Brejcha, Solomun, and Paul Kalkbrenner.
5. Ableton or logic? Mix Studio software
I have used both software, but I was born on logic, and that's what I find best with.
6. What would be your top 5 underground artists to keep an eye on?
The list is long, but since you only ask me for 5, I will tell you the following names: Boris Brejcha, Solomun, Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth.
7. When can we see you next time behind the bridges?
I hope soon. At this moment, I am looking around and see too many equal things in clubs. I would like to start the experience of the festivals around the world. I believe that I could express my music at the best.
8. Choose a track or video to show your music?
